Is THIS AI better or NOT?

Monday, smooth AI operator! Let’s make AI work MORE, and you LESS, in 5 min.

With the 4 Hour AI Workweek!

Alright, a few days have passed since the new GPT o1 got released and the truth is that… the community is divided.

Is this thing good or not?

It mixes the dumbest mistakes with ultrahuman intelligence, and people just… don’t know what to do with it.

Here are 2 examples:

So here’s my practical advice to properly use this thing:

  1. Know its limitations. It does NOT have web browsing and the knowledge cutoff is October 2023. Not ideal. The normal GPT4o is actually superior for this.

  2. It is slower AND you get max 30 messages per WEEK. Do NOT shoot low IQ prompts. Sit down and think hard first.

  3. It is a reasoning model. As the name implies it is designed to work through challenging dilemmas, long questions, multiple-step processes and deep ramifications, not for cooking recipes. GPT4 mini is better for quick daily questions.

Takeaway: it is meant to reproduce PhD reasoning, so of course the use cases are a lot more niche and difficult. Just because people struggle to come up with smart questions, does NOT mean that the model is bad.

It just means we need to step our game up. AI is getting ahead.

I teach this and a LOT more in my courses and workshops to get you ahead of the 99%.

Here's my free course on practical prompting that you can finish in 30 min.

If you finish it in 3 days max, you get to keep it AND win a $50 discount code.
If you don’t, you lose access forever. Only for action-takers.
